flu season

Tana Umaga is out of the All Blacks trial this Friday night at Napier because of a flu.. Must have caught it from the kids.. Wellington and Auckland schools seem to be in the middle of a "small" flu outbreak at the moment, just when the meningoccocal vaccine was made available to them.. Coincidences?

just to prove my point that perhaps New Zealanders ARE not as crazy abt their teams as them Brits, the Crusaders had a parade in Christchurch's Cathedral Square to celebrate their Super 12 triumph.. and since it's their 5th time, i reckon they should keep the trophy, especially since it was also the last Super 12 final.. but the point is, there wasn't the same hoohah in downtown as there was with Liverpool.. they didn't drive down Colombo Street or Moorhouse Avenue like Liverpool would have.. then again Liverpool last won the European Cup 20 years ago.. the Crusaders weren't even conceived until after the 1995 World Cup.. or at least in their present guise as the Crusaders.. even in 20 years time, i just don't see Cantabrians breaking windows in Colombo Street coz the Crusaders lost..

anyway here are the Trial teams for good measure:

Probables:
Tony Woodcock, Derren Whitcombe, Campbell Johnstone, James Ryan, Ali Williams, Sione Lauaki, Craig Newby, Steven Bates, Byron Kelleher, Nick Evans, Sitiveni Sivivatu, Seilala Mapasua, Mils Muliana, Doug Howlett, Sosene Anesi

SUBS:
Keven Mealamu, Clarke Dermody, Bradley Mika, Rodney So’oialo, Jimmy Cowan, Andrew Mehrtens, Tane Tu’ipulotu

Possibles:
Saimone Taumoepeau, Andrew Hore, John Afoa, Tom Donnelly, Kevin O'Neil, Chris Masoe, Josh Blackie, Nick Williams, Steve Devine, Stephen Donald, Brent Ward, Ma'a Nonu, Conrad Smith, Scott Hamilton, Ben Atiga

SUBS:
Tone Kopelani, Carl Hoeft, Bryce Williams, Jerry Collins, Jamie Nutbrown, Jimmy Gopperth, Casey Laulala

NB: With the exception of Scott Hamilton, no Crusaders in the trial because of their participation in the Super 12 Final the previous weekend.. which i'll just remind u, they won!!

No Maori players because Henry wants the Lions to get a taste of some of the All Blacks in there when the Maori play the Lions in Hamilton next Saturday..

And Rokocoko and Kaino were sent to Sevens training.. to provide experience to the "younglings"..
